NATIONAL FUND DESIGNATIONS
Donations to these National programs must be directed to a specific fund.
Ambler College Scholarship: Contributions are used to support undergraduate study in landscape design and/or horticulture at Ambler College, Temple University. Faith Tiberio/Tiberio Foundation matches the WNF&GA amount awarded. Recommendations are made by university faculty.
Burlingame-Gerrity Horticultural Therapy Scholarship Fund: Contributions are accumulated and awarded annually. Recipients need to be full- time students registered in Horticultural Therapy at an accredited university.
FONA (Friends of the National Arboretum): Contributions provide a student-intern for the WNF&GA Dogwood Garden. The Dogwood Garden is located at the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C., a U.S. Department of Agriculture research and educational facility and living museum.
Frances Plate Fund: Contributions are used to support scholarships for four interns on behalf of the Student Conservation Association, based in New Hampshire, providing students with summer internships at over 400 parks in the US.
Hazel Herring Civic Improvement Grant: Contributions are used to fund grants to Branches who have invested in civic improvement projects. Awards are made upon annual application to the chairman.
Sarah B. Tyson Fellowship: Contributions are used to sponsor a graduate student scholarship in a mission-related area of study, i.e., agriculture and horticulture. Awards are made upon annual application to the chairman.
Warren, Sanders, McNaughton Oceanographic Scholarship: Contributions are used to sponsor an undergraduate or graduate student scholarship at any university or four-year college studying oceanography or related study.
INTERNATIONAL FUND DESIGNATIONS
ACWW (Associated Country Women of the World) : This Association administers the Aberdeen Scholarship, Elsie Zimmern Memorial Fund, and Pennies for Friendship. Donations may be made to ACWW in general, or directed specifically to one of these programs.
Lady Aberdeen Scholarship: Contributions are used to further educate and train a qualified woman leader in an underdeveloped country in fields of home economics, nutrition, health, sanitation, and rural community welfare.
Elsie Zimmern Memorial Fund: Contributions are used to increase the corpus; income from this fund is available for scholarships in the field of social welfare, particularly for training in organization and leadership.
Pennies for Friendship: Contributions are used to support the administrative operations of the ACWW office in London, England.
