From your Michigan Division President
Spring 2025
The first day of spring brought snow, sleet, and rain, an extreme contrast to the day before when we enjoyed seventy-degree temperatures. Despite this unpredictable weather, Michigan always delights us with its surprises, and I look forward to the vibrant daffodil display on Belle Isle for Daffodils4Detroit on April 16. All the information for this event is available above on this website.
My time as Michigan Division president will end May 21, 2025, when we elect new officers at the Spring Council Meeting held at the Michigan League in Ann Arbor. The registration form is available on this website, and also in the recent newsletter. I have enjoyed working with all my board members, they were a tremendous help and provided me with support and guidance. I also met many WNF&GA branch members; they were welcoming and a delight to interact with.
Weather is not the only thing that changes, our organization will be changing in the future. A Transition Committee is working to find a way to combine the National and the Michigan Division to reduce the duplication of officers and effort and lead us to a sustainable future. It is going to take hard work to figure this out and everyone will be updated along the way. We welcome your ideas and input as we navigate these changes together.
Thank you to everyone for all your support, and for the work you do in your communities. All of you exemplify what WNF&GA is about. I hope to see many of you at the upcoming events!
Sincerely,
-Sue Malone, President
