From your Michigan Division President
Winter 2025
From your Michigan Division president…..
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with family and friends. It is such a busy time with so many events occurring including several branches held greenssales or home tours. I am sure many of you welcome a reprieve from all the hustle and bustle. It is hard to believe 2024 is in the
rearview mirror and we are barreling into 2025.
We will be very busy in the new year. A transition team will begin meeting in January, planning and working on steps to restructure and streamline our organization. No doubt, many of you have questions, however, until we start meeting and discussing options, I do not have any answers. It will be an intriguing process. The transition team will consist of National President Mary Bertolini; Vice President, Robin Heller; E&C Treasurer Suzanne Smith-Oscilowski; Chairperson Kathy Beveridge of Bucks County Branch, PA; Michigan Division President; Vice President Cinda Schantz; E&C Treasurer Pat Brown; April Everett, Warren; and Julie Moulds, Port Huron.
Daffodils4Detroit will be an exciting event. Ryan Sullivan will tell us about the proposed Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park and we will be able to visit the reopened Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, It is such a marvelous day, I hope you plan to attend and also consider donating to the purchase of daffodils. Putting on a high caliber event is expensive and the price of the luncheon provides only a miniscule amount to the purchase of daffodils. An improved ‘pay button’ will be installed on the website in the beginning of January to make registering for D4D easier.
Michigan Division has worked with a tour company to put together a fun bus trip to visit the Philadelphia Flower Show in early March. Along the way we will visit Phipps Conservatory, Longwood Gardens, and Franklin Park Conservatory.
