PLANNING YOUR DAY

Are you are bringing a floral centerpiece to the luncheon?
Drop it off at the DYC between 9:30am and 10:30am.
Your centerpiece is a LOAN to the Daffodil Day Luncheon,
you will be taking it home after the luncheon is over.

Remember, do NOT to take home a centerpiece you did not bring.

Belle Isle is now a Michigan State Park.
You may drive to a Detroit Yacht Club event without paying a fee due to an agreement with the DYC and the state of Michigan. If
you park and you do not have a Michigan State Park Passport, a nice police officer may explain that a Park Passport is required and how to purchase one.

An annual
Michigan State Park Passport is now $14 for Michigan residents. It gives you entry to all Michigan State Parks for a year.  Many of you may have supported Michigan State parks by purchased the Park Passport when you renewed your license plate. If you did, a "P" is on your annual license plate tab.
The day fee for cars of non-residents is $9.

Take the Grand Tour of Belle Isle

The map uses a flower symbol to show some of the places daffodils bloom on Belle Isle. There are many more daffodils scattered on the island. The DYC, Anna Scipps Whitcomb Conservatory, Belle Isle Nature Center, "One World....Under Michigan Skies" sculpture, and the Piet Oudolf Garden are labeled. Gabriel Richard Park, to your left as you enter the bridge, has very large plantings of daffodils and is also labeled.

For the Grand Tour, turn right as you exit the Belle Isle Bridge.
You will be on the Strand, the first part of a ring road that circles Belle Isle.
The sites you will see include, in order, the Scott Fountain, the Casino, the Nancy Brown Peace Carillon, the Piet Oudolf Garden, the Anna Scrips Whitcomb Conservatory, the Aquarium (open Friday to Sunday) the Dossin Great Lakes Museum (open Friday to Sunday), the athletic fields, the US Coast Guard Base, the "One World…Under Michigan Stars" metal sculpture, the golf course, the Belle Isle Nature Center and Daffodil Hill, a serpentine raised bed planted with thousands of Daffodils4Detroit bulbs. The Detroit Yacht Club is just past Daffodil Hill. As you leave the luncheon, you will pass the swimming beach, parts of the Iron Belle Trail, and, just before the bridge, the Detroit Boat Club.

We hope you enjoyed Daffodil Day 2025 and will return to Belle Isle,
 Michigan's most popular State Park.
